Settlement of the Secondary Principals' Collective Agreement

The Secondary Principals' Collective Agreement has recently been signed, and the increases will be processed in pay period 07 (pay day 6 July).

As part of the settlement, principals who are members of the Post Primary Teachers' Association (PPTA) or SPANZ will receive arrears back to 2 May 2016.

For union members, schools do not need to do anything as the increases to salary and allowances will be actioned automatically by Novopay.

For those on an Individual Employment Agreement (IEA), schools will need to submit a NOVO22t for principals who have chosen to sign the new IEA. These will be processed from PP07, and will include payment from the date the IEA was signed by the employee.

Please note that IEAs are only effective from the date of signing, and cannot be effective before the date they were promulgated by the Secretary for Education on 13 May 2016. Please also see: ministry-of-education/publications/education-circulars/2016-circulars/circular-201606/

The changes will be reflected by the 2nd draft SUE.

Keeping Track of your KiwiSaver Contributions

We would like to clarify for you the timeframes for KiwiSaver contributions appearing in accounts.

Please ensure school employees are aware of the timeframes.

1. If you are a new member of KiwiSaver

My KiwiSaver will only show the contributions when they have been processed from your employer's payroll report. This may take up to 3 months from the time they are deducted from your salary or wages.

School employees will need to contact their provider if they want to know their overall balance, investment returns, and to see contributions made directly to them.

For more information please see:

http://www.kiwisaver.govt.nz/already/track-contrib/keep-track/

2. If you are an existing member of KiwiSaver

When you log on to My KiwiSaver you can view all contributions paid to Inland Revenue from:

  1. you,

  2. your employer,

  3. the Government.

Please note: if you are an existing member, your KiwiSaver contribution can take 4-8 weeks to show up in your KiwiSaver account. This is the time it takes to be processed across agencies.

Reminder - NOVO33

Please remember to provide both your signature and the employee's signature on the NOVO33s. Not having both parties signing the form will result in the request being unable to be processed.

ACC Levy Invoices

Remember that the 2016 ACC levy invoices are going to be generated for payment around August 2016 - September 2016.

More information will be available in the Novopay Newsletter, Alerts and on the Novopay website closer to the date.
