Updates on Collective Agreement Changes

The following information addresses union employees who are affected by the Primary Teachers' Collective Agreement, the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement and the Area School Teachers' Collective Agreement.

Payments will be made in the following pay periods:

  • Lump sum payments of $1,500 (pro-rated for part time teachers and relievers) will be made to eligible union members in Pay Period 9 (pay day 31 July)
  • The adjustment of new pay rates and back pay for eligible union members, effective from 1 July 2019, will be made in pay period 12 (pay day 11 September).

Accurately adjusting payroll details simultaneously for over 50,000 teachers affected by the three collective agreement settlements is a complex and unprecedented amount of work, and such a volume of change requires time to be completed accurately.

Our number one priority is to ensure that all school employees are paid accurately and on time every fortnight.

Payroll administrators should only contact their dedicated payroll adviser if you need help managing their schools' payroll. They do not have any additional information about Collective Agreement changes and are working hard to process tickets for Pay Period 9.
