REMINDER: Please return industrial action spreadsheet urgently to:

Thank you to all the schools that have returned their completed spreadsheets. This is a reminder to Authorised users who have staff at their school covered by the Primary Teachers' Collective Agreement and the Primary Principals' Collective Agreement who have not completed and returned the spreadsheet.

The Employment Relations Act 2000 requires employers to report every strike to the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). The Ministry of Education will do this on behalf of boards, using the information supplied by boards on the industrial action spreadsheet. MBIE records the numbers of all union members striking and the hours and salaries lost. Boards also have a statutory obligation under the State Sector Act to fill in and return the form.

The spreadsheet was sent to the authorised user with the highest level of access in your school. The spreadsheet now urgently needs to be returned by the duly delegated representative of your Board of
Trustees. Please follow the instructions on the spreadsheet for providing details for all union employees, full-time and part-time, and return via email to This needs to be returned even if there are no changes. (It can be sent from a non-authorised email address.)

Please note: the mailbox will not be monitored for feedback. Please only send through the spreadsheet. If you have any questions or concerns, contact your Payroll Adviser.

Additional information on how to complete the spreadsheet can be found at our alert published on 14 August.

Thank you for your co-operation
