Update on today's pay

5 February 2014

Call volumes at the Novopay Service Centre have been higher than usual today.

This is because of a number of issues including:
- new joiners not yet loaded into the system, as input was not received in time for Pay Period 23
- annualisation forms not processed in time for Pay Period 23 or sent back to a school for additional information.

Where we have been advised of non-payments our priority is to resolve these and ensure staff are paid as quickly as possible.  Arrangements have been made with the Ministry's bank to put through manual payments today so those people will be able to see the pay in their bank accounts tomorrow.  As Thursday is a public holiday the next manual pays will go through on Friday, where the required information is received from the staff members affected.

On Thursday, Waitangi Day, school staff who require urgent assistance because they have not been paid or have been significantly underpaid, can contact the Ministry directly on 0800 663 772 between 9am and 4pm tomorrow.  Alternatively they can email resourcing@minedu.govt.nz with the words 'Manual payment' in the subject line.

We apologise for the inconvenience and, as always, we are committed to sorting out any issues as quickly as possible.
